Since 2020, the world has been consumed by the coronavirus pandemic. After reading a newspaper article suggesting that a decrease in lung function and an inability to hold one's breath for more than a minute could indicate a COVID-19 infection, I began a series called "Holding My Breath". I have been practicing this daily since 2021. Following the rule of drawing a line while holding my breath and lifting the pen from the paper when I exhale, I created these drawings. Holding my breath increases the pressure in the chest cavity and reduces the venous return to the lungs. At first, I can still concentrate on drawing lines, but over time, my overall circulation worsens and my creative thinking stops. By holding my breath and halting my thoughts, I create a state where I temporarily lose control over my body. This process transforms intentional actions into unintentional ones.
